RSS Chief Bhagwat meets Muslim thinkers on national unity

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat held a closed-door meeting with many Muslim intellectuals and discussed recent controversies and ways to strengthen religious inclusivity in the country.

Sources close to RSS said the meeting was held for propagating the ideas of Sangh and for promoting the theme of religious inclusivity. Recent incidents like the Gyanvapi controversy, the Hijab controversy, and population control were discussed.

The meeting was attended by former Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) SY Qureshi, former Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Delhi Najeeb Jung, former Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Chancellor Lt Gen Jamir Uddin Shah, former MP Shahid Siddiqui, and businessman philanthropist Saeed Sherwani.

Former MP Shahid Siddiqui said that discussions were held to strengthen peace and brotherhood among the people in the country. “We are concerned that whatever is happening in the country is weakening the religious unity. We discussed how to maintain and strengthen peace and brotherhood in the country.

The former MP also said that Mohan Bhagwat belongs to a mass-based organization. So, we all had a meeting and discussed how to strengthen religious inclusion in the country.

The meeting was held at a time when the issue of Gyanvapi Masjid is before the Court. It is decided to set up a platform that will work for strengthening communal harmony in the country.
