Television journalist and new anchor Rohit Sardana died of Covid-19 in Delhi on Friday.

His death has sent shockwaves among the media in Delhi since journalists have been working non-stop even during the peak of the Covid pandemic.

Sardana is survived by his wife and two young children.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his shock over the untimely demise of Rohit Sardana. He said on Twitter:

Rohit Sardana left us too soon. Full of energy, passionate about India’s progress and a kind hearted soul, Rohit will be missed by many people. His untimely demise has left a huge void in the media world. Condolences to his family, friends and admirers. Om Shanti.

It seems he had announced his condition as Covid-positive on Twitter a week ago. He had tested negative in RTPCR tests and it was through a CT Scan of the lungs that his infection was detected.

 Sardana was the top-time news anchor with Zee News. He had earlier worked with Sahara TV, ETV Network and All India Radio.
