Twitter has appointed California-based Jeremy Kessel as the new Grievance Officer for India under the new Information Technology Rules, 2021. Jeremy Kessel is the Global Legal Policy Director of Twitter based out of San Francisco, US.

On Sunday, interim Grievance Officer Dharmendra Chatur stepped down from the post.

The development comes at a time when the micro-blogging platform is already under pressure to comply with the new norms and has faced severe criticism from the government along with warnings of legal proceedings.
