New Delhi

Condolences and tributes poured in from different corners of the world following the demise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother, Heeraba who breathed her last early on Friday morning.  She was 100 years old and passed away at the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre in Ahmedbad

Prominent among those who sent condolence messages are Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Nepal's newly sworn in Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, former Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, former Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Duba. Besides world leaders, Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama,Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP National President, J.P. Nadda, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, his predecessor Vijay Rupani and Uttar Pradesh Chief MInister Yogi Adityanath also condoled the demise of PM Modi's mother. 

The Union Home Minister tweeted.

Foreign diplomats posted in New Delhi also sent condolences. Russian Ambassador to India, Denis Alipov and German Ambassador to India, Philipp Ackermann also tweeted.

Tweeting his condolence message in Hindi, the Russian Ambassador said.

Syed Naseruddin Chishty, the Chairman of All India Sufi Sajjadanashin Council, also expressed shock and sadness over the demise of the Prime Minister’s mother.He tweeted.
