The New Delhi World Book Fair, 2026, held in the majestic Bharat Mandapam, is in full swing as of late. The rush comprising publishers, authors, and readers from India and abroad, points to the encouraging scenario of books retaining their hold on human mind even in the digital era.

Hundreds of stalls feature at this massive fair, but among them, one book stall stands out as a particular centre of discussion and attraction. This stall belongs to Markazi Maktaba Islami Publishers (MMI Publishers), New Delhi.

As I wandered through the fair, I realised that this particular stall consistently attracts a large number of readers. Significantly, readers are most interested in books regarding contemporary controversies and debates.

These include books like Nimran Ahmed's Milad, Maulana Amin Ahsani Islahi's Polytheism and RealityJihadHindu FundamentalismRSSIslamic Life, andA biography of Prophet Muhammad.

The stall operator Adil Gaur explains that there is a major reason behind the growing interest in these books.According to him, "In recent times, there has been deliberate confusion and negative propaganda in society regarding these topics.

People now want to learn the truth by reading and understanding it themselves. These books are working to break down the misconceptions and ill will that have been spread for a long time."

This book stall is operated by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Delhi. According to Adil Gaur, Jamaat-e-Islami has set up two stalls at the fair.

One is by Markazi Maktaba Islami Publishers, and the other by Sabki Sewa Publishers and Distributors. Both stalls are located next to each other in Hall No. 2 and are equally popular with readers.
