Lord Krishna appeared in the dream of a Muslim man and told him, “'Why have you come here? I am here for you. Reach there.” Taking it as a divine order, the Muslim man, Naushad Sheikh from Hamidpur village, Dumka, Jharkhand, decided to build a grand temple of Shri Krishna, a Hindu deity. He constructed a beautiful temple for Rs 40 lakh.
His gesture is being appreciated by both Hindus and Muslims.
He discussed this dream with the believers of different faiths who told him that Lord Krishna has showered his blessings on him and he then decided to build the temple in His name.
He undertook the renovation of a small and open temple of Partha Sarathi Temple.
The Partha Sarathi Temple is said to be 300 years old. The local Kind Puti Maharaj of Hetampur worshipped Lord Krishna at this place. The King also started an annual fair in the name of the open-air temple.
.
After the independence of India, the feudal system ended and so did the annual fair at Partha Sarthi temple.
It’s after a gap of 45 years that Qadir Sheikh, Abul Sheikh, and Liaquat Sheikh were instrumental in restarting the tradition of the fair and puja at the temple.
Now, Naushad has built a grandiose temple with a Kirtan hall, a room for the priest, and a community kitchen.
The idol of Krishna was installed in the temple after being carried in a chariot designed like the one in the Mahabharata period.
