Recipe: FOR KACHORI: Add 2-3 cups of kuttu flour, 4-5 boiled potatoes, green chillies, jeera, sendha namak, black pepper powder, 2-3 tbsp oil and make a dough. There's no need to add water, you can add boiled potatoes if you feel the dough isn't coming together. Now make kachori and deep fry.

FOR ALOO KA JHOL: In a pan add oil, jeera, green chillies, and tomatoes and saute well. Add boiled potatoes, sendha namak, and black pepper powder and mix well. Add 1-1.5 cups of water. Cover and cook for around 8-10 mins. Garnish with coriander leaves.

This year Ram Navami falls on Thursday and according to the Hindu Scriptures, the ninth day of Chaitra Navratri is celebrated as the birth-day of Lord Rama.

It is also believed that since Lord Hanuman was a great devotee of Lord Rama thus he gave Hanuman a vardan(blessed) which entitles Hanuman's birth-day to be celebrated on Ram Navmi.

Thus in India, every Hindu household celebrates Lord Hanuman's birthday on Ram Navami.
