Tasir Ali of village Dhalibil in Sribhumi (formerly Karimganj) district is a proud father as five of his seven children don uniforms everyday and are working for protection of the nation.

At first glance, Tasir Ali appears to be an ordinary man who runs a small clothing shop in the Ramkrishna Nagar market. However, behind this simple life lies a story that has won admiration across Assam and beyond.

Tasir Ali’s four sons are serving in the Indian Army, while another son serves in the Assam Police. The father in him takes immense pride in seeing his children dedicate their lives to the service and protection of the nation.

Among his four sons in the Army, two are posted in the Kashmir Valley and the third one in Punjab. The one in Assam Police is currently posted in the Hailakandi district.

His youngest son is in college, and one daughter in settled with her husband.

Tasir Ali feels sad thinking that his wife left too soon without seeing the success of their sons.

Tasir Ali becomes emotional whenever he speaks about his children’s achievements. He believes their journey can inspire countless young people to join the armed forces and contribute to nation-building.

What makes the story even more remarkable is that the family did not have access to special coaching, expensive training programmes or privileged opportunities.

All the children studied in ordinary local schools. Through determination, discipline, hard work and a strong sense of purpose, they successfully cleared the rigorous recruitment processes of the Indian Army and Assam Police.

Recalling their journey, Tasir Ali says, “My children studied in ordinary schools. I wish, and hope young people will feel inspired by the career choice of my sons and they too join nation-building by becoming its guardians. I always believed in my heart that my children would grow up and do something meaningful.”

The people of Dhalibil village regard the achievement as extraordinary. For so many members of a single family serving simultaneously in the country's defence and police forces is virtually unparalleled in the area.

Villagers believe the example set by Tasir Ali’s family will encourage local youth to pursue positive paths in life and dedicate themselves to the service of the nation.
