India takes on the West Indies in the first of the three-match ODI series on Friday at Port of Spain.

After conquering England last week, key players Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Raishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli have been rested for this leg of the West Indies tour.

KL Rahul who missed the England series due to a groin injury has been tested positive for Covid19 and will likely miss the entire series.

The hosts come into this match on the back of a six-match losing streak. They recently lost the ODI series to Bangladesh.

Another concern for the Nicholas Pooran side is the fact that West Indies has failed to bat the full quota of 50 overs on nine of the twelve matches they have batted first.

Jason Holder makes a return to the squad after having being rested against Bangladesh.

Shikhar Dhawan India’s stand-in Captain has a relatively inexperienced side to lead. He is India’s seventh captain across all formats this year.
