Zarkhana Championship: Indian athlete Luqman Ali finishes fifth

New Delhi

Luqman Ali, a wrestler working with the Department of Sports and Athletics at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), has secured 5th position in the 7th Asian Zarkhana Sports and Wrestling Championship-2025 held in Urmia, Iran.

The championship was held from October 8 to 11, in which 20 countries participated.

Luqman holds a B.A. in Hindi (Hons) and an M.A. in Social Work from JMI. He is an exceptional athlete, having represented Jamia Millia in several state, national and international wrestling competitions, winning several medals.

JMI Honorary Vice Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif congratulated Luqman Ali and appreciated his dedication to achieving this important honour and bringing glory to the university in the field of international sports.

Prof. Mohammad Mehtab Alam Razavi, Registrar of FAMA, praised Luqman Ali for his exceptional performance in the championship in Iran and conveyed his best wishes for future tournaments.

Professor Nafees Ahmed, Honorary Director of Sports and Games at JMI, appreciated Luqman Ali for his determination and diligence in achieving this honour for the university. He encouraged him to continue making JMI proud with his determination and sincere approach.
