Awaz-e-khawateen organises singing and essay competition

New Delhi

Awaz-e-Khwateen, a Delhi-based NGO working for women, organized an essay writing and Patriotic singing and dancing competition on the theme of 'Women empowerment and nation-building' for various schools in New Delhi.

The essay-writing competition in Hindi, English, and Urdu was held in Zeenat Mahal Girls School, Chandni Chowk, and Dr. Zakir Hussain Memorial Senior Secondary School, Jafrabad, New Delhi.

The topics for the competition were: Contribution of Muslim Women in Nation Building; Role of Muslim Women in the Freedom Movement; Causes and prevention of lack of education among Muslim women; Rights given to women in Islam and their use.

In all, 110 girls participated in the competition. The winners were given cash awards of 5000, 3000, and 2000 respectively. All participants received participation certificates. Awaz-e-Khwateen presented trophies to the principals of the participating schools.

The school administration and students expressed gratitude to the NGO for reaching out to them and organizing an event that boosted their confidence and provided them with an opportunity to explore their new talents.

Awaz-e-Khawaten Director Ratna Shukla Anand told students about the importance of education for empowering women. She said the empowerment of women will lead to nation-building and the overall prosperity of the country.

The Music and dance program was organized in association with the Music & Arts Movement Society.

Awaz-e-Khwateen congratulated and presented certificates and trophies to all participants.

Director Ratna Shukla Anand was seen singing in her melodious voice in honour of freedom fighters.
