Kashmir cleric arrested for vilifying slain actor-singer

The Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested Kashmiri cleric Moulana Irfan for his social media post that is in circulation in Kashmir in which he is trying to shame the murdered Television and social media actor-singer, Amreena Bhat of Hushroo in central Kashmir,


In the said video that Irfan is heard alleging the slain singer-actor Amreen Bhat was “doing indecent and vulgar shows on social media” and spreading "behayayi" (immorality) in society.

 

He has posted this video in which he is speaking in Kashmiri, after Amreen's killing on a YouTube channel with 1.24 lakh subscribers.

The police have booked him under the Public safety act.

 

It may be recalled that the Lashkar-e-toiba terrorists had killed Amreen in the courtyard of her house when they called her on the pretext of discussing a shooting assignment. The 35-year-old Amreena was the sole bread-earner of her family.
