Imran Khan's latest interview with Axios HBO, in which he once again linked the crime of rape with the dress of women has come under attacks by the women in Pakistan and across the world.
Among those who have expressed shock on Khan's remarks are his first, second former wives Jemima Goldsmith and Reham Khan.
Khan had said "If a woman is wearing very few clothes it will have an impact on the men unless they are robots. It's common sense."
While the UK based Jemima Goldsmirth who is mother of his two sons took to Twitter to comment on Khan's misogynistic remarks, his second wife Reham Khan critisized Imran by re-tweeting Hamza Azhar Salam stance.
I remember years ago being in Saudi Arabia and an elderly woman in an abaya & niqab was lamenting the fact that when she went out she was followed & harassed by young men. The only way to get rid of them was to take her face covering OFF.

The problem is not how women dress!
I would like to request Imran Khan to start fully covering himself up since women are not robots and can get (bad) thoughts whilst observing his handsomeness which can lead to abhorrent crimes according to the honourable PM's own argument. #Satire #ImranKhan #ImranKhanOnHBO pic.twitter.com/bckFyYmGBn

اس سوچ کا ہر سطح پر مقابلہ کریں گے۔ عورت کے لباس کو ریپ کی وجہ قرار دینا جرم عظیم ہے اور نام نہاد وزیراعظم کو شرم آنی چاہیے۔
His misogynistic and chauvinistic mind set has given rapists and harassers a justification for their acts. Shameful and utterly disgusting#Rape #MeToo pic.twitter.com/e2gTo1EeOq

Feeling this poem like never before
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.

Black trekking pants and a t-shirt in Battakundi 3 days ago. Uh oh, I guess I was’asking for it’ - even though I was old enough to be his mother.

Pakistani women must start sharing the photos of the clothes we were wearing when we got harassed and assaulted! Just so we can be told if they meets the standards of “very less clothes” or not. Also men who don’t rape women please change your names to robots so we know !

An abaya, A FREAKING ABAYA. On top of that it happened during tawaf in FRONT OF THE KAABA. The man was obviously a Pakistani because he had a bag that had the Pakistani flag on it. I was 11.

Imran Khan is being criticised online for once again linking rape and sexual violence to how women dress. In an interview with HBO Axios, the PM said: “If a woman is wearing very few clothes, it will have an impact on the men, unless they are robots.”

Today this guy in the red car, number plate BHM 345 harrassed me by sideling and following me constantly on the road. He kept staring and signaling.
I ignored him then also shouted at him yet he kept doing this, to the point that I had to slow down and couldn't speed much to get pic.twitter.com/dH4UfDaIA1

When Malala commented on shadi, she was a powerful icon influencing little girls, and when the great PM defended rapists, things are being taken out of context. The luxury of nuance is only awarded to powerful misogynistic men

The long standing norms of the "male dominated" society are deeper and sinister than one can even think of, but such derogatory statements coming from men of stance are sad. With the ease of access of raising voices with help of social media platforms, the reactions are lightning fast and grievances are shared in real-time.
Recently, Imran Khan's remarks on not giving bases to the US millitary also garnered lot of attention.
