Israel hailed Nepali student Bipin Joshi, hailing him as a hero for saving lives by throwing live grenades out of a shelter during the Hamas terror attack on 7 October 2023.

Several Israelis gathered outside the airport to honour his memory.

Hamas terrorists abducted Bipin Joshi, a Nepali student, on 7 October and later killed him in their captivity. Ashish Chaudhary, Dipesh Raj Bist, Anand Sah, Rajesh Kumar, Rajan Phulara, Padam Thapa Pravesh Bhandari and Lokendra Singh.

His family was given to believe that he was alive in the captivity of Hamas as the captors made him speak to his family once and later send videos to assure them he was with them.
