A seminary teacher in Lahore whose video clip that showed him having sex with a young boy has been booked for unnatural offences and other Acts.

According to Dawn newspaper, Lahore police have registered a case against Mufti Azizur Rehman after a harrowing video clip showing the cleric allegedly sexually assaulting one of his Marasa students went viral on social media.

The case has been registered at the North Cantt police station on the complaint of S* (Name withheld) under Section 377 (unnatural offences) and Section 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Mufti Azizur Rehman, a former teacher at Jamia Manzoorul Islamia, has not denied the veracity of the video clip. Yet he claimed to have been drugged by his victim.

The victim whose identity is being protected under the law had told the police that he along with other students had been declared failed and was barred from sitting in the examination for three years.

When he pleaded with his teacher Mufti Azizur Rehman against the ban, he told him he would consider helping him provided he indulged in sexual activity with him.

He said the teacher never helped him but kept blackmailing him and forcing him to have sex with him every Friday.

The victim was even threatened by the Moulvi for even thinking of exposing him. His complaints to the Madrasa administration went unheeded as nobody believed an “elderly and pious” man can do this.

Fed up, the victim recorded their sexual interaction and showed it to the Madrasa management after which his services were terminated.

This didn’t end his harassment as the teacher and his family threatened him and other members of his family for taking away his job.

Finally, he posted the video clip on social media and the resultant anger and uproar across the country led to booking the cleric.
