In his first visit to Moscow since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February this year, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval on Wednesday met his Russian counterpart Nikolai Patrushev and discussed "broad bilateral cooperation in the field of security".

A statement issued by Moscow said the talks were successful -

A press release issued by the Russian government said that "wide issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of security, as well as important issues of the regional and international agenda were discussed."

Russia remains India's main defense supplier while the two sides have deepened energy cooperation in recent months. Besides, Afghanistan and counter-terrorism measures are other areas where both sides are known for close cooperation. Moscow and Delhi are also discussing greater multilateral coordination as the upcoming UN General Assembly will be the world body's first since the crisis in Ukraine erupted in February.

The sides agreed to continue the dialogue between the Security Council of the two countries, emphasizing the progressive development of the Russia-India special and privileged strategic partnership," the Russian official statement said. Third countries such as Iran Which is part of the International North-South Transport Corridor.
