Fariha Anjum, a Class IX student from Rangia in Kamrup district, has earned a place in the Asian Book of World Records by writing more than 300 poems at such a young age.

Fariha's name was entered into the Asian Book of World Records for her heartfelt contribution to "Love Letters to Mother," a global literary initiative organised by Blue Star Publications, New Delhi, on the occasion of Mother's Day.

The event celebrated the timeless and selfless love of mothers through poetry, letters and stories.

More than 700 writers from different parts of the world participated in it by contributing works that honoured the sacrifices, unconditional love and invaluable role of mothers.

Fariha's deeply emotional poem stood out among hundreds of entries, earning her a coveted place in the prestigious record book.

The daughter of Baitullah Saikia and Ruma Begum, Fariha has demonstrated that age is never a barrier when talent, dedication and passion come together.

A student of SERS Public School, Rangia, she has nurtured a deep love for literature since childhood, particularly poetry. Her expressive writing style, emotional depth and command over language have already earned her widespread appreciation.

"I have loved writing since childhood," Fariha said. "I started writing articles and poems when I was in Class V. I write in both English and Hindi and regularly participate in national and international online literary competitions. I also took part in the Mother's Day competition organised by Blue Star Publications in New Delhi, through which my name was entered into the Asian Book of World Records."

Despite being only in Class IX, Fariha has already published her first poetry collection, 'Ceiling Know All My Secrets,' featuring 100 poems. She revealed that she is preparing to publish a novel and another poetry collection next month, both of which are complete and currently awaiting printing.

Her literary journey has continued to gather momentum. Fariha first joined the online literary platform Writer Connect India as a participant and was later appointed as one of its co-founders. She is also currently working on writing a film screenplay, reflecting the diversity of her creative interests.

Expressing his joy, Fariha's father Baitullah Saikia said, "I never imagined that my daughter would achieve such a remarkable milestone at such a young age. I am immensely proud of her. Since her childhood, I have always tried to provide her with the best opportunities to pursue her dreams."

As news of Fariha's achievement spread, well-wishers visited her home to congratulate the young poet. Her teachers, classmates and the management of SERS Public School also celebrated her success with great pride.

Teachers described Fariha as not only an outstanding student but also an exceptionally gifted literary talent. One of her teachers remarked that her international recognition has brought immense honour to the school and will inspire many other students to pursue their creative passions.

Resident Pritam Hazarika said the recognition Fariha received through the "Love Letters to Mother" programme, which beautifully celebrates the eternal bond between a mother and her child, would undoubtedly encourage her to reach even greater heights in the literary world.

Fariha's inspiring journey stands as a powerful reminder that with imagination, perseverance and dedication, even a teenager from a small town can achieve international recognition. Her success is expected to motivate countless young people across Assam to embrace literature, creativity and the limitless possibilities of their own dreams, Hazarika said.
