Masoom Raza is 6th topper in Bihar 10th board exam

The names of three Muslim students figure in the list of top 10 positions secured by students in the just-announced result of the matriculation examination held by the Bihar Board of school education.They are: Mohammad Masoom Raza of Sugia Katsari village of Sheohar district, which has achieved the sixth position in the state, Mohammad Haris Aijaz of Munger the 7th position, and Mohammad Saif Ali of Gopalganj has secured the 10th position.
 
State Education Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary announced the result on Thursday.
 
Masoom Raza has secured 482 marks out of 500. His achievement is remarkable given the fact that his family doesn't own even an Android Mobile that is used for online studies in the times of the Covid pandemic. He has secured more than 90% marks in all subjects with 100 marks in Science, 99 in Mathematics, 95 in Social Science, 95 in Urdu, and 93 in Hindi.

Masoom Raza told Awaz-the Voice on the phone that he is feeling “proud and very happy.” “I used to work till late at night to achieve my goal. I have studied for hours after waking up in the night. I want to become a software engineer because I have a dream of working in this field.”
 
He has studied at Sugia Upgraded High School and has taken tuition from a coaching class in his village.
 
Masoom Raza said he thinks that education is the only power that can earn one respect, as he is getting today after his result. It can raise the status of a family in society. “I used to go to tuition every day after school and that helped me perform better.”

His father Mohammad Naseem works as a casual labourer in Mumbai, and his mother is a homemaker.
 
When Awaz the voice spoke to Mohammad Naseem over the phone, he said, “I cannot describe my happiness. I have not studied but my dream is to educate my children as much as possible. I will leave no stone unturned to get them higher education, make them keep moving ahead and achieve whatever he wants to.... and what can I say, I am very happy.” 

Sumit Kumar Mishra, a teacher who taught Masoom expressed his happiness at his result. He said Masoom has always been a meritorious student since his childhood; his father is a common person working hard for his children.”
He said as a teacher his focus is to help all students. “Today, I am very happy that a student of our institute has achieved 6th position in the state and he has made the Institute and the entire district proud.”
