Actor Alia Bhatt made a striking appearance at the Red Sea International Film Festival, where she was honoured with the Golden Globes Horizon Award, alongside a special retrospective celebrating her cinematic journey.

Golden Globes president Helen Hoehne announced the honour on Instagram, saying, “Congratulations to Alia Bhatt, this year’s Golden Globes Horizon Award honoree — an exceptional talent whose global impact reflects the rising creative energy of the Middle East, Asia, and beyond.”

Alia and Tunisian actress Hend Sabry were selected as this year’s recipients, recognising their contributions to global film and television.

Calling the award an “honour,” Alia said the recognition held special significance for emerging performers and women in cinema.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to speak for a new generation of aspiring performers and women… At a time when global voices are coming together to tell more inclusive and impactful stories, this recognition feels especially meaningful,” she said, as quoted by the Golden Globes’ official website.

During the festival, Alia also spoke about her upcoming film ‘Alpha’, describing it as a “risk” because of its female-led action narrative.
“Alpha is the first female-led action film from the YRF universe… you’ve not historically seen that perform in the same way that the other male-led films have performed,” she told Deadline.
