Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday inaugurated the Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit here and launched as well as laid the foundation stone for industrial projects worth Rs 2 lakh crore.
Shah also inaugurated the Gwalior Fair and dedicated to the public the renovated Atal Museum on the occasion.
According to officials, around 25,000 beneficiaries along with thousands of entrepreneurs and investors are participating in the summit, which has been organised to mark the birth anniversary of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The industrial projects launched and for which foundation stones were laid are expected to generate employment opportunities for about 1.93 lakh people, officials said.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Union Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia, state Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar, and state BJP president Hemant Khandelwal, among others, were present at the event.
Earlier, Chief Minister Yadav had said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is making a significant contribution towards achieving the goal of a Viksit Bharat and positioning India as the world’s third-largest economy.
According to the state government, the Abhyudaya Growth Summit presents Madhya Pradesh’s development model with a new and comprehensive perspective.

The summit is not limited to investment proposals and industrial announcements alone, but showcases an integrated vision where industry, urban development, tourism, MSMEs, startups and employment grow together, officials said.
