The farmers protesting against the three laws passed by Parliament on agriculturelast month continued to stay put at three places in the national capital after hours of tense build up at Ghazipur, bordering Uttar Pradesh, late Thursday night.

At several protest sites small mobs of local residents joined police and asked farmers to move away. Police managed to persuade a gathering of farmers at Burari  north Delhi to move to the bigger protest venue at Singhu border.

Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) spokesperson Rakesh Tikait who created emotional scenes while speaking with the media persona last evening at Ghazipur border saie leaders have called for a ‘mahapanchayat’ of farmers at Muzaffanagar Uttar Pradesh to decide the future course of action.

Speculations about a police crackdown on the farmers at Ghazipur proved wrong as the heavy deployment of the para-military forces was withdrawn post midnight and the normalcy returned to the month old camping site

It seems the farmers sit-ins are withering away as many of the participants were seen removing their water proof tents and some leaving for their homes at Ghazipur last night.

However Tikait said the frmers agitation will continue till the government withdraws the there laws.
