Kashmiri Hindu killings: Muslims say innocents' killings unacceptable

Local Muslims of village Chotigam, 12 km fromShopian district, in south Kashmir held a protest against the killings of innocents by terrorists during the funeral procession of a local Kashmiri Hindu on Tuesday morning.
 
In a significant move and a message to the terrorists by the locals. In the past though people have shown their anger against such killings, never have the villagers dared to raise their voice so openly against terrorists backed by Pakistan.
 
As the funeral procession of Sunil Kumar was marching to the cremation ground, the mourners mostly Kashmiri Muslims raised slogans like Qatl-e-Nahaq Namanzoor and Khoon Kharabi Na Manzoor (Innocent killings and bloodshed are unacceptable).
Sunil Kumar and his brother Pitambar Kumar alias Pintu, Dogri-speaking Kashmiris who have lived in Kashmir for generations – were attacked by terrorists when they were visiting their orchard early Tuesday morning. Their house in the village is protected by the J&K Police given the threat to the non-Muslims.
 
Sunil Kumar was killed on the spot while Pitambar Kumar suffered bullet injuries and was hospitalized.
 
Deploring the attack, a group of social activists led by Magray Mansoor held a candlelight protest near Shopian Clock Tower.

The villagers told local media that the assault on the members of the Kashmiri Pandit community must stop right away. “We are peace lovers and have been living in communal harmony for ages. We strongly deplore such attacks,” Mansoor said.
 
Yana Mir, a social activist said each time a Kashmiri Hindu is killied the lives of Muslims are also endangered. In her powerful message to the killers, who use the name of Muslims and Islam, she wrote on Twitter
The last rites of Kumar were performed at around 7 pm.
