The Kerala Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has taken a man into custody for allegedly sharing content related to the terror group ISIS on social media after returning from abroad, police officials said on Thursday.

Aadhil, from Thekkeveetil, Mulavoor in Muvattupuzha, was detained at Thiruvananthapuram airport on Wednesday. The ATS had earlier issued a lookout notice in connection with its investigation into the circulation of ISIS-related posts online.

Upon his arrival from a Gulf country, immigration authorities intercepted him and alerted the ATS. Subsequently, a team from Nedumbassery reached Thiruvananthapuram and formally took him into custody.

Officials said Aadhil is currently being questioned, with further action to be determined based on the investigation. His mobile phone and other electronic devices are under examination by the ATS.
