Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Thursday said that he will personally meet President Droupadi Murmu and apologise for mistakenly referrig to her as 'Rashtrapatni'.
He further said that the BJP is deliberately trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.
"I had mistakenly said 'Rashtrapatni', now if you want to hang me for it, then you can. The ruling party, in a deliberate design is trying to make mountain out of a molehill," said the Congress leader on his remark.
Earlier, in the Lok Sabha Union Minister Smriti Irani on Thursday slammed the Congress and demanded an apology from him and Sonia Gandhi for maliciously targeting President Droupadi Murmu.
In Rajya Sabha, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman demanded an apology from Sonia Gandhi.
Both the houses of parliament were adjourned over after repeated protests by the ruling party MPs over the issue.

Meanwhile Sonia Gandhi and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury met the speaker Om Birla and asked him to give Chowdhury a chance to clarify his position on the floor of the house.
