Home Guard Ashraf Ali must have never felt as much proud of his job as he did on Friday morning while he was on duty manning traffic flow at the city’s congested Majsma Chowk.

While Ashraf Ali was focused on directing the traffic so that it doesn’t cause a snarl, he was oblivious of a well-attired gentleman coming out of an official car till he walked up to him and greeted him with a bouquet.

The person holding the bouquet was Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma. He had stopped his car near Babu Jagjivan Ram Majsma Chowk, got down, and personally presented a bouquet to the Police Home Guard.

Passerby and shopkeepers watching the scene were wondering as to what was happening as it was not a scheduled event. It was a busy time for everyone and the traffic roundabout was choked with vehicles.

However, it was in the middle of this normal chaos that Telangana High Court Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma stopped his car and got out. He patted Ashraf Ali on his back, praised his work and dedication, and presented him with a bouquet.

He told Ashraf Ali that he has been observing him do a difficult job every day as he crossed the intersection on his way from his residence to the High Court. He was impressed by his dedication and felt like interacting with and thanking him. He said he had noticed Ashraf Ali’s diligence and dedication to his duty and wanted to convey his gratitude and appreciation to him.

He said that he had great respect for the determined police personnel who were performing their duties honestly.

Ashraf Ali is very happy

For Ashraf Ali, all this was like a dream come true. He said, "I have been posted in the Abbotsford Traffic Police for the last one and a half years. I am monitoring the security of the Chief Justice as he passes through the area.”
Ashraf said, "It feels great to receive this award. The Chief Justice appreciated my dedication to duty and said keep it up!”
