Dr. Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin elected has been elected as Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia University by members of the Court of the University for five years.
 
The meeting of the JMI Court took the key decision on Monday. He succeeds Dr. Najma Heptulla, whose term expired in 2022.
 
Dr. Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin is head of the one million-strong global Dawoodi Bohra Muslim Community. He was the Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University till last year.
 
He leads by example and has dedicated his life to the betterment of society at large with a special focus on education, environment, and socioeconomic growth.
 
The Bohra community’s most appreciated Global programmes like Saifee Burhani Uplift Project, Turning the Tide, Project Rise, and FMB Community kitchen work towards the eradication of hunger, reduction of food waste, protection of the environment, and so on are overseen by him.
 
Acclaimed internationally, he is committed to making positive contributions to society, producing ideal citizens, and establishing amity, peace, and harmony. 
 
Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin is the recipient of several prestigious awards. He has been featured in the 500 Most Influential Muslims list. A citation in celebration of his contributions in the US House of Representatives was recited at the US Capitol. 
 
Dr. Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin is an alumnus of the Dawoodi Bohra educational institute Al-jamia-tus-saifiya in Surat and Al-Azhar University and Cairo University, Egypt. 
 
A prolific writer Dr. Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin has authored the annual treatise over the last five years. He has authored Arabic and Urdu poems. 
 
He has been involved in major philanthropic work in India and across the world.
