Three days after lifting the Women's World Cup 2025 in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, the Indian team met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi wearing formal attire and the smiles of winners on their faces. However, their calm countenance was in start contrast to their raw emotions after the grand victory and won them a million hearts.

Here are ten emotional moments from the celebrations after the Women's team winning the coveted World Cup::

1. The Indian team Captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, tried to touch the feet of ICC chairman Jay Shah as a gesture of gratitude. Shah prevented it by bowing to Kaur and handing over the World Cup to her. However, Indian team coach Anmol Majumdar was caught unawares as Harmanpreet Kaur managed to touch his knees at the awards ceremony.

3. The girls did not forget the veterans like Julian Goswami and Diana Edulji, who were in the stadium while celebrating the victory. They brought both of them inside the field and handed over the World Cup to them. When Harmanpreet Kaur handed over the World Cup to Julian, both were emotional, and their bonhomie was a delight to watch and is rarely seen among men.

4. The players did not forget their injured teammate Pratika while celebrating the victory. A cricket commentator said she had never seen such joy in women’s cricket.

5 Jemimah Rodrigues, who played a splendid innings both in the semi-final and the finals of the World Cup, invited veteran player Sunil Gavaskar to fulfil his promise of singing with her in case they won the World Cup. Jemimah plays guitar and also sings.

6. The girls celebrated in a raw way, hugging the cup in their beds, lying on the grass in sheer thrill and hugging their parents as little girls would do, simply letting their hair down while being on the bare grass of the D Y Patil Stadium. Men often dance and open a bottle of Champagne.
