Anam Fatima of Agra is yet another woman who has shattered the myth about Muslim women not being so open to many areas of life, by winning four medals in the equestrian championship held in Gautam Buddha Nagar University in Uttar Pradesh, recently.
Anam not only won the medals but also won the hearts of the audiences and participants as she rode her horse Wazir. She returned home with one gold and three silver medals that she won in in different events.
During the competition as soon as Anam held the reins of Wazir, it galloped on the speed of wind. Anam, a resident of Sindhi Bazar, Agra, is a first year student of Nutrition and Dietetics in the Aligarh Muslim University.
After joining AMU's Horse Riding Club in 2018, Anam started learning the skills. On March 5, Anam also won a silver medal in another equestrian event.
Anam's father Javed Shamsi esays he was proud of his daughter for her success. He said Anam has been fond of horses riding since her childhood.
After her recent win everyone in her family is overjoyed.
Anam Fatima says she wants to represent India in international equestrian championships. “I know that I have a long way to go; this competition has made me even more excited and motivated me to continue my training. I will work hard and one day win a gold for my country.”
