Mahsa Amini death: Iranian women cut hair, toss hijab

Death of young woman in Tehran due to severe injuries inflicted upon by the Moral Police for not wearing the mandatory Hijab the right way has triggered nationwide protests by women who are tossing their headscarves and chopping off their hair in anger.

The death of the 22-year old Mahsa Amini who was brutally attacked by the Iranian morality police for wearing hijab that showed a part of her hair, has become a rallying point for the Iranian women to remove compulsory hijab rule and “death to the dictator.”

Protesters - both men and women took to the streets across cities and towns of Iran against her murder and the compulsory wearing of Hijab. Many videos of angry protests and women tossing their headscarved and moving without Hijab were posted on social media.

Even men joined the women and also shaved off their heads to show solidarity for women's rights.

A report said Mahsa Amini had suffered fracture in her skull in the torture by Morality Police of Iran.

Masih Alinejad, top iranian women's activist whose Twitter account was banned for sometime and it evoked furore across the world posted this video of anti-Hijab protest on Twitter. The men and women are chanting "Death to dictator" slogans in Persian language:

Both common people and celebrities are chopping their hair in protest against the mandatory hijab rule that led to brutaliosation of many women and death of Mahsa Amini.

Angry women are cutting their hair and posting the act of it on social media and tossing off the mandatory hijab in anger on the streets.

In Tehran, a massive protest comprising men and women was taken against the murder and compulsory Hijab.

Several actors have tonsured their heads to show support for the dead woman and demand no compulsory hijab for the Iranina womne.

Police used water canon to disperse angry protests in Tehran and police justified action against Mahsa Amini as "mandatory implementation of law."

Netizens have also shared pictures of iranina women dressed in western clotheses that was a norm till the Islamic recvolution of late eighties.Activists are asking for globval support and not allowing compulsory Hijab as become a new normal.
