Two Hindu men were killed in separate incidents in Bangladesh, highlighting growing concerns about attacks on minority communities.
In Narsingdi’s Palash Upazila, 40-year-old grocery shop owner Sarat Chakraborty Mani was attacked with sharp weapons by unidentified assailants on Monday night at Charsindur Bazaar. Mani sustained critical injuries and died en route to hospital. Eyewitnesses said the attackers fled the scene. Police are investigating.
On the same day, Rana Pratap Bairagi, an ice factory owner and acting editor of the newspaper Dainik BD Khobor in Monirampur, Jessore, was shot dead by three men on a motorcycle. They called him to an alley and shot him at close range before fleeing. His body was sent for post-mortem, and police are probing the motive.

These killings mark at least the sixth reported attack on Hindus in the past 18 days, including the fatal assault on Khokon Das on New Year’s Eve. Authorities have launched investigations into all incidents.
