Two men were allegedly robbed of ₹1 crore by unidentified assailants who threw chilli powder into their eyes in the Kukatpally area, police said.
The incident occurred on Monday night within the limits of the Kukatpally Police Station.
According to police, around five to six persons on three motorbikes targeted the victims, who were travelling on a two-wheeler. The attackers sprinkled chilli powder into their eyes, causing them to lose control and fall, before fleeing with the cash.
Following a complaint, police launched an investigation and managed to apprehend three of the accused at the airport, recovering part of the stolen amount.
A senior police official said efforts are underway to track down the remaining suspects.

Police suspect that the looted money may be linked to hawala transactions, though further investigation is in progress.
