The Election Commission on Tuesday directed the transfer and new postings of several officials, including IAS and IPS officers, as part of preparations for the April 9 Assembly polls in Kerala.
In a communication to the state’s Chief Secretary, the Commission said it had reviewed poll readiness and instructed that the changes be implemented without delay.
As per the order, Narayanan (IPS-2011) has been appointed as the district police chief of Kozhikode, while Thomson Jose (IPS-2009) will take over as Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Thrissur Range.
Among administrative changes, Inbasekhar (IAS-2015) has been named District Collector and District Election Officer for Alappuzha. Vandana S (KAS) will serve as Revenue Divisional Officer in Thaliparamba and Returning Officer for Irikkur constituency in Kannur district. Sachin Krishna (KAS) has been assigned as District Registrar General, Kannur, and Returning Officer for Dharmadam.
The Commission instructed that the transfers take effect immediately and asked the state government to submit a compliance report confirming that the officers have assumed charge by 11 AM on March 18.

It further clarified that officials who have been moved out should not be given any election-related responsibilities until the completion of the poll process.
