A video of a man dressed as the popular superhero Spiderman assisting commuters through waterlogged roads in Maharashtra's Bhiwandi has gone viral, earning praise on social media for his unique act of public service.

Following heavy rainfall in Thane district on Monday, several roads in Bhiwandi and nearby areas were inundated, with submerged potholes making travel hazardous and causing many vehicles to lose balance.

Amid the chaos, content creator Shadab Momin donned a Spiderman costume and volunteered to help residents negotiate the flooded stretches.

The viral video shows Momin carrying two children on his shoulders to help them cross the waterlogged road safely. He is also seen guiding motorists and assisting vehicles as they made their way through the flooded streets.

Momin said his initiative was aimed not only at helping people but also at drawing attention to the recurring problem of waterlogging in the area. He questioned why roads continue to flood after every bout of heavy rain despite substantial public expenditure on road repairs and the desilting of drains each year.
