Tamil Nadu BJP chief Nainar Nagenthran on Thursday paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, saying he firmly protected national unity and democratic values while maintaining balance and compassion even in challenging times.

“Today is the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee. His political style, which combined dignity and humanity, is a rare quality that earned respect even from his opponents,” Nagenthran said in a post on X. He added that under Vajpayee’s leadership, Indian politics reached new heights, with governance, integrity, and national interest at its core.

TN BJP coordination committee convener H Raja highlighted Vajpayee’s role in key national initiatives, including the Golden Triangle road project connecting Kashmir to Kanyakumari, the Antyodaya Anna Yojana to combat hunger, the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan for free education, and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana to connect villages nationwide.

Raja described Vajpayee as the architect of the “new India,” whose vision of politics serving the nation’s future, rather than personal gain, continues to inspire generations.
