Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said that Indian tradition and culture hold solutions to many of the world’s problems, while addressing the Shatabdi Samaroh 2026 marking the birth centenary of Param Vandaniya Mata Bhagwati Devi Sharma in Haridwar.

The event, organised by the All World Gayatri Pariwar (AWGP), also commemorated 100 years of the Akhand Jyoti, the sacred flame burning continuously at Gayatri Teerth–Shantikunj. Shah, accompanied by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, offered prayers at the site.

Describing the occasion as a confluence of faith, spirituality and culture, Shah praised AWGP founder Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya for emphasising character-building and spiritual awakening. He also lauded Chinmay Pandya, Acharya’s grandson, for taking a pledge towards nation-building.
