Global cosmetics major L’Oréal will establish the world’s first beauty-tech hub in Hyderabad, with operations scheduled to begin in November 2026, the company announced after discussions with the Telangana government at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The announcement followed a meeting between L’Oréal CEO Nicolas Hieronimus and the ‘Telangana Rising’ delegation led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on the sidelines of the WEF annual meeting.

According to a release from the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office, L’Oréal will set up a large Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, dedicated to integrating beauty and advanced technology. The centre will function as the company’s global hub for innovation, data, digital platforms, technology services and supply chain support.

The Hyderabad facility will play a critical role in developing digital tools, artificial intelligence-driven solutions and advanced analytics, which will be deployed across L’Oréal’s offices and manufacturing units worldwide.

L’Oréal has also extended an invitation to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu to attend the inauguration of the centre in November 2026.

Speaking after the meeting, Minister Sridhar Babu said the Telangana government is fully committed to supporting multinational companies and positioning Hyderabad as a preferred destination for global capability centres. He noted that the state is emerging as a leader in the GCC ecosystem, not only in sectors such as med-tech and health-tech, but also by creating new verticals like beauty-tech.

He added that several global hospitality and consumer majors, including Marriott, have already established GCCs in Telangana, while companies such as Vanguard, Netflix, McDonald’s, Heineken, Jaggaer and Costco Wholesale have recently chosen Hyderabad for similar investments.

During the interaction, the Telangana delegation also highlighted the launch of the Telangana AI Innovation Hub. Responding to the presentation, Hieronimus expressed keen interest in the initiative, describing it as an exciting development.

Special Chief Secretary for ITE&C and Industries Sanjay Kumar invited L’Oréal to explore manufacturing opportunities in Telangana in addition to the proposed GCC. He said the state’s strong industrial ecosystem and infrastructure make it an attractive destination for future manufacturing expansion.
