When Azim Mansoori and his newly wedded wife Bushra returned to his village Judwa Kuan in the Shamli district of Western Uttar Pradesh Wednesday night the couple received a rousing reception from locals.

Why did Azim Mansoori's wedding become a public affair?

Azim Mansoori is only two -and-a -half feet and 30 cm tall and his height posed a problem in finding a life partner for him. This gutsy man then went to the local police station to complain against his parents for not even trying to find a match for him due to his height.

It was at this time that his story went viral on social media.

Azim's bizzare requests to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Samajwadi leaders Akhilesh Yadav and Dimple Yadav along the same lines also attracted peoples’ attention to this man.

Finally, due to social media posts,  a neighbour helped the family find  Bushra, a woman a few centimeter taller to Azim and the two got engaged recently.

 On wednesday, they married as per Islamic traditions in Bushra's house at Majidpura in  Hapur city.

In the morning Azim Mansoori dressed as a groom left for Hapur a big mob was there to see him off. The groom was joyous as he waved to the people from his car. His wife Bushra is a commerce graduate.

Their wedding has not only brought a sense of joy to his family but even to neighbours and the Police men.

According to Azim Mansoori's family members, their wedding was scheduled for November 7, but for some exigency, it was solemnized in a simple function two days in advance.

According to media reports before leaving for his bride’s place to solemnize the wedding, Azim Mansoori said he wishes Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his wife Dimple Yadav attended his wedding.

He said he could not invite these leaders yet he wishes to meet them in the future.

He was carrying a golden ring to present to his bride.

Azim Mansoori said that he wishes to settle down happily with Bushra.

He said he would celebrate with local police who helped him in organizing the wedding.

Asked if he plans to go on a honeymoon, Mansoori said he plan to go to Mecca for the pilgrimage.
