India’s top doubles player Yuki Bhambri and his partner Goran Göransson advanced to the quarterfinals of the men’s doubles event at the Indian Wells Masters with a straight-set win over Sander Arends and Jiří Lehečka.

The Indo-Swedish pair delivered a strong performance to register a 6-4, 6-4 victory in the pre-quarterfinal clash that lasted one hour and 14 minutes. Bhambri and Göransson did not face a single break point during the match and broke their opponents’ serve twice.

Maintaining control for most of the contest, they secured a crucial break in each set to wrap up the match in straight sets.

Bhambri and Göransson will next face Alexander Erler of Austria and Andrea Vavassori of Italy in the quarterfinals of the prestigious ATP Masters 1000 tournament.
