Karate coach Ali Syed makes Pune slum children dream big

When Ali Syed’s family was facing financial hardships and he thought of contributing towards expenses, he dropped from school after cpassing his 10th standard not knowing that this move will change his life.

Today, Ali Syed is an established coach of Karate in the KLSVP Karate Club of Pune.

His journey started with picking up a small-time job as an electrician in his locality Bhawani Peth, Kashewadi, Pune. He would manage his family with his small earnings. In the meanwhile, he continued his training and practice of Karate, for which he had always a passion.

He continued to work hard till awarded a black belt.

With his passion for Karate, Kashwadi, who lived in the slum area of ​​Pune,, Ali Syed created new avenues for himself.

Ali Syed started teaching karate to the children of his colony. Initially, only five children came, but gradually when those five children started bagging medals in tournaments and the word spread, other children living in the area also flocked to him for training.

Ali Syed not only created his sources of livelihood for himself but also helped slum children to focus their energies. Instead of loitering around and wasting time, the children are now getting trained in karate in the ground of Arun Kumar Vaidya Stadium.

Ali Syed says though he couldn’t even think of going for international competitions he feels victorious each time one of his students win a medal.
