Neeraj Chopra broke his own national record for the second time this month on his way to winning the silver medal at the Diamond League in Stockholm on Thursday night.

Neeraj threw 89.94 meters to settle for the second position behind Anderson Peters who breached the 90-meter mark with his gold-winning effort of 90.31 meters.

Even though he fell 6 cms short of the elusive 90-meter mark, he managed to better his own national record of 89.30 meters set earlier this month at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Finland.

This was Chopra’s eighth appearance at a Diamond League meet and his first top-three finish. He has now moved to fourth place in the Diamond League standings. The top six will qualify for the Diamond League final at Zurich in September.
