India has reaffirmed its support for peace and stability in West Asia, welcoming the adoption of the Gaza Peace Plan during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's delegation-level talks with Jordan’s King Abdullah II, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.
Speaking at a special briefing on the visit, MEA Secretary (South) Neena Malhotra said the leaders “reiterated the importance of peace and stability in the region” and welcomed the implementation of the first phase of the Gaza Peace Plan. She added that Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s long-standing support for Palestine and efforts toward “just and durable peace.”
The discussions also covered civil nuclear energy, with both sides viewing it as a clean and viable option for addressing climate change. While no specific agreements were signed, Malhotra noted that both countries see nuclear energy as a potential tool for sustainable development.
Beyond nuclear energy, several MoUs and agreements were finalised across multiple sectors, including energy, digital technology, water management, culture, and people-to-people connect. The MoU on renewable energy aims to foster collaboration in green hydrogen, grid integration, and capacity building.
