Indian Consul General to Shanghai Pratik Mathur met HE Shi Huifang, secretary of the ruling Communist Party of China’s Shaoxing city in Zhejiang province on Wednesday.
The meeting took place while Mathur was on an official visit to the city.
"Both sides had an engaging discussion on Party Secretary Shi’s recent visit to India, where he visited Delhi and Bengaluru," the Indian Consulate in Shanghai posted on X.

Mathur thanked the city’s leadership for the support extended to the Indian athletics team during the second Asian Relay Championships last month when Indian athletes won multiple medals highlighted by a historic gold in the 4x100 mtr women’s relay event, the post said.
He also used the opportunity to interact with the Indian diaspora and visited the Lu Xun Foundation established in the memory of China’s famous writer and poet of the 20th century.

Mathur visited the home of Lu and paid tribute to his friendship with Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, it said.
