Quetta
Six individuals were allegedly forcibly disappeared in Balochistan, local sources and families said, as the protest camp of the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) marked its 6,047th day.
In Quetta, security personnel from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and Frontier Corps (FC) reportedly raided a house in Killi Sorab Khan Qambrani around 1 am on January 4, detaining four people — Dawood Baloch and Umar Baloch, sons of Haji Shah Bakhsh; Naseebullah, son of Shehdad Khan; and a minor, Gwahram, son of Faiz Muhammad. Their families said they have received no information about their whereabouts.
In Kech district, two brothers, Sarwar and Hazir, sons of Bashir, were allegedly detained during house-to-house searches in the Goburd area of Mand the same night, local sources told the media.
Relatives at the VBMP protest camp outside Quetta Press Club also highlighted the case of 15-year-old Nasreen Baloch from Awaran, who was reportedly taken in a raid in Hub Chowki on November 22. Police reportedly refused to register an FIR.
VBMP chairman Nasrullah Baloch said the organisation would raise the cases with the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances and the provincial government, urging authorities to either produce the detainees in court or release them.
