Local social organizations Anjuman Jamiat Ulama Isna Asharia Kargil (AJUIAK) and Ulema Council, Ladakh facilitated Padam Shri awadee Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat and President’s Police Medal winner DySP Mohammad Aslam Mir at Kargil.

Sheikh Nazir Mehdi , President, Jamiat Ullama Kargil Ladakh, presented a shawl to the awardees. He said the awards has boosted the morale of the yonger people as they believe that hard work always pays and take even get them highest awards of the land.

Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat is a renowned Balti language author hailing from picturesque village of Karkitchoo in Kargil. In his more than 50 years of writing career, he has compiled and published three books. He has also authored two books.

He has compiled Guldasta-eNajaat, a book of Balti Masnavi and Behra Taweel; Muhzinul Bukaa collection of Balti Marsia and Noha; Raaah E Behasht, a collection of poetry of old Balti poets including some works of Persian poets as well.

Apart from compilation works, works Basharat has also authored two poetry books titled Guldastae Basharat andBazme Basharat.

Basharat has been associated with All India Radio, Kargil, for a long time.

Dy SP Mohammad Aslam Mir Joined J&K Police as Sub Inspector on 1st January 1993, and served on various Assignments.

He urged upon the youths to focus on their goals and always aim at serving the society which is the key to success.
