Silver prices rose 0.95 per cent to Rs 2.24 lakh per kg in the futures trade on Monday amid a firm global trend.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the white metal for September delivery increased by Rs 117, or 0.95 per cent, to Rs 2,24,255 per kilogram in a business turnover of 890 lots.
Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in silver prices, analysts said.

In the overseas market, Comex silver futures increased 1.85 per cent to USD 59.25 per ounce.
