Actor Mahhi Vij has spoken candidly about her relationship with former husband Jay Bhanushali, saying that although their marriage has ended, the bond they share continues to remain strong and deeply rooted in friendship.

Mahhi will open up about her personal journey in an upcoming episode of Tum Ho Naa – Ghar Ki Superstar, hosted by Rajeev Khandelwal.

During the conversation, the actor reflected on navigating life after separation and highlighted the unwavering support she received from her family, especially her father, during one of the most difficult periods of her life.

She revealed that her father never questioned her choices and instead prioritised her happiness above everything else.

"He never asked me why or doubted my decisions. He always said that whatever choice I make, my family would stand by me as long as I was happy," Mahhi shared.

Speaking about Jay, she said that despite their separation, he continues to be one of the closest people in her life.

"Today, Jay is my best friend. He is family to me. My father still spends time with him; they sit together over tea, and Jay often visits our home as well," she said.

Mahhi added that there is no resentment between the two families and that their relationship has evolved with mutual respect and understanding.

"We continue to share a beautiful relationship, and I am grateful that there is no bitterness. We remain connected as a family and support each other whenever needed," she said.

Recalling the emotional turmoil she experienced during the transition, Mahhi explained that her father instinctively understood what she needed most.

"There are times when you don't want explanations or questions. You just want someone to be there quietly. That's exactly what my father did. He never judged me or told me what was right or wrong. He simply sat beside me and offered silent support," she said.

Mahhi and Jay were married for 14 years. Apart from being foster parents to Rajveer and Khushi, the couple welcomed their daughter, Tara, through IVF in 2019.

Earlier this year, the two announced their separation through a joint statement on social media. Considered one of television's most loved couples, they stated that the decision to part ways had been made mutually, with care, respect and the well-being of their family at the forefront.
