Actors Mihir Ahuja and Prasanna Bisht have been cast in the lead roles of an upcoming untitled dramedy directed by filmmaker Aditya Chandioke.

The film, currently in production, is being described as a light-hearted story rooted in the milieu of small-town India, blending humour with everyday emotions.

Chandioke, who previously directed the Netflix feature Greater Kalash and the miniseries Baat Pakki, has begun shooting the project with the two young actors.

Ahuja, best known for his role in The Archies, will portray a young man from Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. The actor said the character offered him an opportunity to explore unfamiliar territory and immerse himself in a distinct cultural setting.

"This project is particularly meaningful to me because it allows me to step into a world I've never inhabited as an actor before. I've never played someone from Ujjain, and that comes with its own rhythm, innocence, mannerisms and speech patterns," Ahuja said in a statement.

He revealed that he has been preparing extensively to understand the local dialect and cultural nuances associated with the region.

"I've been spending a lot of time learning the Ujjaini and Malwai dialects, observing the culture and understanding the subtle ways people communicate. It's a challenging process, but one that I'm thoroughly enjoying," he added.

The actor also said the script immediately resonated with him because of its emotional sincerity and understated humour.

"What drew me in was the simplicity and warmth of the story. It occupies a space where emotions feel genuine and the humour emerges naturally from the situations and the characters rather than being forced," Ahuja said.
