Ahead of the release of the upcoming war film Ikkis, actor Sunny Deol shared an emotional behind-the-scenes moment featuring his father, veteran actor Dharmendra, who will appear on screen in the film in what is being described as a posthumous role.

Sunny took to Instagram to post a video from the final day of the film’s shoot. The clip captures Dharmendra addressing the cast and crew, reflecting on the film and expressing his feelings as the project wrapped up. In the video, the legendary actor is seen speaking warmly about the experience and the message of the film.

“I feel this film should be watched by people on both sides of the border. Today is the last day of shooting, and I feel a mix of happiness and sadness. I love you all. If I made any mistakes, please forgive me,” Dharmendra says in the clip, visibly emotional.

Sharing the video, Sunny Deol wrote a heartfelt caption remembering his father’s legacy and contribution to cinema. “A smile that brought light even in the darkest moments. Boundless generosity. The love for my papa runs deep in our hearts. He has left us with his final cinematic gift, Ikkis. Let us honour and celebrate him in theatres this New Year,” the actor wrote.

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis is a war biographical film based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. The film stars Agastya Nanda in the lead role and features an ensemble cast including Jaideep Ahlawat, Suhasini Mulay, Sikander Kher, Rahul Dev, and Dharmendra.
