Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has described Shri Jageshwar Dham in Almora district as one of the state’s most important spiritual destinations and has appealed to devotees to visit the shrine, especially during the holy month of Shravan.

Sharing his thoughts on X, the Chief Minister said the ancient temple complex, located amid thick cedar forests, offers a rare blend of devotion, spirituality and tranquility. He noted that pilgrims from across India and overseas arrive here in large numbers to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva and urged people to experience the sanctity of the site firsthand.

Dhami also suggested that the winter season is an ideal time to visit Jageshwar Dham, as the calm surroundings and peaceful atmosphere enhance the spiritual experience of devotees.

“Surrounded by dense deodar forests in Almora district, Shri Jageshwar Dham represents an extraordinary harmony of faith, spirituality and serenity. During the auspicious month of Shravan, devotees from India and abroad come here for darshan of Lord Shiva. Make it a point to visit this ancient Shiva shrine during your winter travels,” the Chief Minister wrote in his post.

Earlier, on October 28, CM Dhami had underlined that Jageshwar Dham is a major centre of faith and devotion, stressing that all concerned departments must work in coordination to preserve and enhance its spiritual and cultural significance.

With the number of pilgrims steadily increasing, the Chief Minister emphasised the importance of improving basic facilities at the Dham. He directed the District Magistrate to closely monitor ongoing projects, ensure their timely completion, and maintain road connectivity on a regular basis. He also proposed the simultaneous development of Vriddha Jageshwar, noting that both locations are deeply rooted in mythology, culture and religious tradition.
