Fana fi Allah Sufi Qawwali group performed for hundreds of pilgrims at the shrine of Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishti at Ajmer Sharif, Rajasthan.

Led by Qawwal Tahir Hussain Faridi, the group presented Sufi poetry to create a divine, spiritual ambience.

Among the listeners were 55 devotees of the Sufi saint from America, Europe, Australia, and Southeast Asia. The foreigners had come with their families, including young children.

Haji Syed Salman Chishti, the custodian of the shrine of Ajmer Sharif and chairman of the Chishti Foundation, welcomed the delegation. He offered prayers with the pilgrims and welcomed them with a traditional turban.

Tahir Hussain Faridi leads the Fana fi Allah Sufi Qawwali group as the main vocalist and harmonium player. Kash Qalandar plays tabla and sings. Lali Qalandar Saleem Chishti and Ali Shan sing and clap. Abrar Hussain plays tabla and sings, while Chetan Ramlo plays harmonium and sings, and Aziz Abatello performs mystical dances.

The group has been trained by the great masters of Qawwali in South Asia for over 2 decades. It has brought the spiritual music of Sufi shrines to audiences in North America, Europe, Asia and Africa and has released 10 albums to date.

At the shrine, the Qawwali group presented traditional sermons in praise of the Prophet Muhammad and the Sufi saints of the Chishtia order.

Devotees from different faiths attended the event. Many members of the delegation were so moved by the spiritual experience that tears welled up in their eyes. They said that they had come here as pilgrims but were returning with love and spiritual peace in their hearts.

The joy of the visit was further enhanced when a member of the delegation, Andre, arrived with his future wife to seek the prayers of Khwaja Gharib Nawaz before their wedding in India later this week.
